What is cm/360 in CS2?

cm/360 is the distance you physically move your mouse to turn a full 360°. Here's why it's the truest measure of sensitivity and how to find yours.

The definition

cm/360 is the number of centimetres you drag your mouse across the desk to spin your character a complete 360°. A low cm/360 means a tiny movement spins you all the way round (high sensitivity). A high cm/360 means you need a big sweep of the arm to do the same (low sensitivity).

Unlike the raw sensitivity slider, cm/360 accounts for your DPI as well, so it describes the actual physical motion your hand makes. That's what makes it the fairest way to compare two players.

Why it's the true measure

How to measure your cm/360

  1. Make sure any in-game acceleration is off and you're using raw input.
  2. Place your mouse at the left edge of your mousepad and line it up with a ruler.
  3. In a private server, drag the mouse in one smooth motion until your view turns exactly 360° (lining a wall corner back up with itself helps).
  4. Measure the distance travelled in centimetres. Repeat a few times and take an average.

Measuring by hand is fiddly, so the easier route is to calculate it. CS2 uses a fixed yaw of 0.022° per mouse count, which means cm/360 can be worked out exactly from your DPI and sensitivity.
